Filming in Portugal FAQ

Do I need a permit for filming in Portugal?

Most shoots in public spaces need a permit from the city or the site owner, and some locations need more time than others. We check what your shoot needs and apply for the permits.

Is there a film incentive in Portugal?

Yes, Portugal has a cash rebate for international productions that meet its criteria. We help you see what may apply and connect you with the Portugal Film Commission.

Can you provide a DOP or videographer in Portugal?

Yes. We work with DOPs, camera operators and videographers based in Lisbon, and can build a full local crew around your director.

Can we bring our own DOP and key crew?

Of course. We fill in the rest with local crew and gear, so your team travels light.

Where in Portugal can you film?

Anywhere: Lisbon, Sintra, Porto, the Alentejo, the Algarve, the Atlantic coast and the islands. We plan travel and logistics for the crew and the gear.

How far in advance should we contact you?

As early as you can. A small shoot can come together in a couple of weeks; locations that need special permits take longer.

Does the crew speak English?

Yes. Our producers and heads of department work in English every day with international teams.
